Dr. Markos Zemede was born and raised in Ethiopia.
He immigrated to the USA as a refugee in 1984. After taking the Perspectives course in 1999, his life was ruined for the ordinary. In 2002 he started Horn of Africa Mission to plant Christ centered and culture affirming churches in the Horn of Africa and beyond. Today more than 24,000 simple churches have been planted in the Horn of Africa, North Africa, and the Middle East. In addition to leading Horn of Africa Mission, Dr. Zemede practices Internal Medicine in Fresno, California. He is married and a proud father of three adult children.
