Mike Fitzgerald has been married to his wife Leslie for 30+ years, they have 4 children and 7 grandkids.

Mike worked as a contractor for 25+ years in Silicon Valley with high tech companies, then moved down to Fresno, where for the last 15 years he has worked with Thrivent Financial, which offers financial services, retirement planning, insurance, and investment planning. Leslie is still working in the business, and Mike is now transitioning into a more missional role for the business. Mike’s interest in ministry began as a prayer in Silicon Valley 18 years ago asking God to direct him on how to participate in meaningful ministry. When he moved to Fresno, Mike became Dr. Markos Zemede’s patient and got to hear about the work of HOAM through him. He loved what they were doing to serve the cause of Christ, and 5 years ago went on a mission trip to Ethiopia to see first hand the work God was doing in that area. He has made the journey 3 more times since then with his wife Leslie  and their youngest son Dillon. Mike now serves as a board member for HOAM, and has worked with a variety of other ministries including building homes with Habitat for Humanity both locally in Fresno and internationally in Central and South America  since 2007. He is also involved with Up Global, as well as St. Peters Precious Lambs Learning Academy in Clovis, CA; a Christian preschool which Mike and Leslie both helped to establish.
